スタジオ録音としては（昨年はライブ盤をリリース）3年振りのアルバムは、ジャムバンドという括りでプロモーションされてるみたいで、それはそれで首を傾げなくも無いんだけど、これを機に日本でも色んな人に聴かれて欲しい超絶技巧のバンジョー弾きBéla Fleck師匠率いるハイテク・フュージョンバンド "Flecktones"。チーフタンズやチベット歌手も参加のここ数作続くワールド・フュージョン音楽路線ですが、実は米国のみリリースの3枚組み「Littel Worlds」が新譜で、そこからの10曲セレクトがこの1枚ものってことだそう。ということで、ブルーグラスにアイリッシュ・ダンス、チベット歌唱が違和感なく電気ベースに乗ってしまう馬鹿馬鹿しさというか、センス・オブ・ワンダーは一聴しただけでは余り感じられず、このバンドにしてはオトナシめの選曲かな...という気もしますが、よく聴くとやっぱり凄いっす。早く3枚組み聴きたい。

ダムドの初米国ツアーを観て結成したというLA ポップパンクの元祖"The Dickies"の1979年リリース1stアルバム。Captain Oi!からの待望のCD化はEP曲（クリスマスソングやS&Gの"Sound Of Silence"カバーなど）を追加収録。初期XTCばりのキーボードも入ったやたらにポップなサウンドに、Black Sabbathの"Paranoid"をカバーしてしまうメタル趣味が後塵に続いていくわけですね。ワタシ、2ndまでしか知らないんですが（まだ現役らしい...）、この1stはオリジナルパンク愛好家なら持ってないとマズイでしょう。ジャケットも最高だしね。

Anthony Rotherがリリースした"PSI Performer"という12インチEPシリーズを、ベルリン中心のテクノ系音楽家がリミックスした企画盤。2枚出てて、これは1stの方。錚々たる面子...なのでしょうか、知らない人もたくさんいます。クオリティはどれも高くて、ベルリン中心主義の好サンプラーと言えるんじゃないでしょうか。

PyrolatorといえばDer Planと並ぶ80年代ドイツ・ニューウェーブを代表する玩具的音楽ユニットですが、そのメンバーKurt DahlkeとKlosowski君が、アナログテープ切り貼りで作ったベッドルーム・コラージュ音楽。85年にata takからリリースされたアルバムを、Captain TripがCD化したもので、日本盤のみ。何度聴いても頭にこびりつかない...この間の仏人ユニットに続き、これもまた良質な聴き流し音楽。

時はサッチャー政権誕生前の1979年5月、ロンドンはムーンライト・クラブでのギグを収録。2トーンからのリリース、ってことは海賊盤的粗悪音質ではなく、ちゃんと録音された音源であるということ。選曲は1stアルバムで馴染みのスカ・ナンバーばかりで、意外にあっさりと進行（フロアの熱気を窘めるシーンなんかもあるけど）、スタジオ盤より物足りない気がする...ってとこで"必殺のライブ盤"なんてことはありませんが、冒頭Terry Hallが発する"I haven't got much to say. It's the eve of the election and it's up to you..."のヒトコトが瞬間時代を切り取ってるかも。ところで2nd絡みのライブ盤ってのは無いんでしょうか？探しています。

英国トラッドを管楽器でアレンジするという、ブラスモンキーズのひっさびさのアルバム（多分2nd）。ブラスとは云え、中心メンバーはMartin Carthy (guitar, vocal)に、John Kirkpatrick (accordion)なわけですが、両師ともに英国トラッド界の発掘者、重鎮でかつ衰え知らず次々に新たな試みを繰り返してきたイノヴェーターであるわけで、このアルバムも忠実にトラッドを演奏してるくせに全然古めかしくない、理想的なモダン伝統音楽の在り方を提示してます。オジサン達にしてこの実験魂、遊び心。つくづくCarthy叔父さんの追っ駆けやってて良かったと思う。

He stopped playing music and dedicated all of his time and energy to amicably contacting these creatures who had previously probed his body so brutally.
